Holy crap, I don’t have much time left in France, so this blog is mostly going to be me freaking out from now on about how little time I have left abroad. While I am really looking forward to being home and seeing everyone I love and being back in a country where everyone speaks English to you, I cannot bear the thought of being away from this amazing country and all the amazing friends I’ve made here over these incredibly fast nine months.
Today, I took no pictures because I was running around, taking in as much of Paris as possible. First stop, an ironic first visit to Breakfast in America! It was so fun to be there for my brunch friends’ last trip there. I got a stack of chocolate chip pancakes and they were SO amazing, making me even more ready to come back to the US. I eyed the milkshakes and fries other people got at the table, and the price was actually incredibly reasonable for an American diner transported across the Atlantic. I’m going to miss this group of people, even though I’m only really just meeting them now :(
After that, I made my way over to the Place de la Concorde and met up with David, heading over to L’As du Fallafel! Delicious as ever, and so fun to see him again before I leave!!
Unfortunately, after I made it up to Kooka Boora, it was full, so Emily and I moved our study party to Caféothèque (which was as great as ever) and I actually finished one of my many projects! It was so nice to actually be studying in a café. It’s so nice.
After walking a bit around the Marais, we made our way in the rain to Les Halles, where we spent a bit in the Fnac (a bookstore/electronics store) and I bought a few French books to bring back home to the US with me (it’ll be hard to find French books, I know it).
Came back to the house and had a lovely host family dinner (one of the last of its kind with everyone) and my host mom used this really cool thing to whip a raspberry cream into a foam! Also, they gave me this ADORABLE GOING AWAY GIFT OH MAN I DON’T KNOW HOW TO TOP IT!! It’s a mug hand-painted by my host mom with my favorite colors and with an inscription on the bottom: “Rebecca Paris 2012 BRC”.
I’ll try to take more pictures tomorrow! First up: pain au chocolat for breakfast!
